Dr. Avery began his career in Seattle, Washington only to return to his home state of Maine in 1998.  He performs comprehensive vision examinations and treats medical diseases of the eye such as glaucoma. 

 

Dr. Avery has special training in Low Vision Rehabilitation.  He also is experienced in the fitting of therapeutic contact lenses for injured corneas, keratoconus,  and irregular corneal grafts following a transplant procedure.

 

Dr. Avery is also active in clinical research and often shares investigator responsibilities with Dr. Lonsdale.  Through this research, he has gained valuable insights and experience in the treatment of dry eye and ocular surface disease.
